My day in court

My day in court

After moving back from Florida, I moved back to Acton. Problem is, we only  have 2 parking spaces, but 3 cars. Little did I know that in the Town of Halton Hills, there is a bylaw that says you can’t park on the street from 2am-6am, November-April. Well there is no sign. Anyways, to make a long story short, I got two tickets for $30 each. Me, being the person I am, was so angry I decided to fight the power. Well today I can proudly state that I had my day in court and won. By default, since the cop didn’t show up. But regardless, I was not paying those tickets. It just seems silly to pay for a fine I didn’t even know exsited. The prosector whom I spoke to before the “trial” mentioned that there are many bylaws that are not posted that you can be ticketed for. Parking facing the wrong way, driving the wrong way up the street. Well duh, of course those are not allowed. But parking on a side street that is home to 8 houses and getting ticketed for it, I don’t think so. Anyways, I now have 1 more ticket which I’m going to pay as I don’t have the energy to go back to the dog and pony show that was court again. So to this I bid you Ontario Municipal Court System and Town of Halton Hills:
