Driving…and a parade

Driving…and a parade

So I have arrived  safely at the Hampton Inn in Largo (near Washington). Today I spent over 10 hours in my car, with less singing and more listening. The drive went almost perfect, minus the person who swerved into my lane and almost side swiped my car, resulting in me swerving over (luckily there was no car in the other lane) and laying on my horn for a good minute or two. As I arrived in Washington, I hit a huge accident and tried to use my GPD to get around it. All it did was take me off the highway, then back onto it using another entrance. Stupid GPS. The worst part is that the accident was literally right before my exit off the highway to my hotel. I’m all checked in, having a drink and watching some TV before tomorrow’s events. I plan on seeing the Washington Monument as well as the Bureau of Printing and Engraving. Also, trying to get a few of the Smithsonian museums in as well.
I almost forgot about the most random part of my Atlanta leg of the trip. As I was getting off the Metro there, I walked onto a street filled with bands, police officers, Llamas and giant balloons. Like the ones in the Macy’s Parade (Rudolph, The Grinch etc.) I guess Saturday was their Christmas parade day. It was so bizarre to see all the people just standing around, it reminded me of the movie “Jingle All The Way” starring Arnold the Governator. Right before the parade stars there is a scene where he is running through all the parade people standing around. Anyways, it was a great start to a great day!
