So it’s been quite a whirlwind of activity since my last update so here it goes:
Katie and her mom were here and we had an amazing time. I spent 2 days with them touring the parks and doing the Disney thing (which is exausting when you work here) but I’m glad they came. They ordered the dresses for her wedding and now I’m in charge of getting them in January since David’s Bridal doesn’t ship to Canada. That should be a fun day! The day Katie left, Nick and Jessica came down, which for some reason I thought they were coming this week so it messed up my life. I worked and tried to spend as much time as I could with them, but since I screwed up I didn’t see them as much as I would have liked. Luckily their friend Brittany could get them in and do stuff with them too. I finally got to ride Toy Story Mania and I must say it’s quite impressive. Even though 3D doesn’t work well with my eyes, I still enjoyed the ride and beat the old lady next to me on the car! Can’t wait to buy the game for Wii so I can play at home. We also checked out the American Idol Experience, which blew my mind. It literally felt like the season finale of the show. They had pre-taped segments that the host would interact with and the whole lighting and visual package was tailored to each song and person singing. The judges were great and at the end we all got to vote for the winner. Sadly I can’t audition because I work here and am Canadian. That dream is crushed! Next up was the Pirates Dinner show which was laughably bad…I mean horrible. I can’t decide whether the food or the show was worse. I had fun because of who I was with, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, ever! After the dinner, I was swept to Old Town’s Fun Spot where the 300 foot high Sky Coaster was waiting to scare the crap out of me. I was so close to chickening out, but finally agreed after some peer pressure and Jill-Lynn agreeing to go too. Nick and I went first and I must admit it wasn’t as terrifying as I thought it would be. I just kept telling him to shut up and not talk to me. Would I do it again….for sure. What else….I finally had two days for myself to do nothing. I ended up booking myself into Disney’s Vero Beach Resort. It was fantastic…I walked along the beach and sat in my room and did nothing. I did get bored after a while, but I needed some time to do nothing to balance out being busy all the time. Today I mailed my Christmas presents to my family and I have no idea what the evening holds. I work until the 23rd and have that day and the 24th off, and will be working Christmas. I think that’s a good thing as really what else would I be doing without my family at Christmas?
