Canada’s Wonderland will be adding two new rides, Lumberjack and Flying Canoes, along with an expanded play and splash area for children in 2018! From new thrills, to family fun, to splash zones, the upcoming season will provide new experiences and memories for the whole family.
Lumberjack will take guests for a thrilling ride on two swinging axe pendulums, propelling them into the sky with their feet dangling through 360 degree loops. With inversions reaching up to 75 feet (22m) high, Lumberjack will give riders the sensation of an inverted coaster loop!
Flying Canoes is an interactive family ride that will allow riders to control their journey of flight in two-person canoes. Plus! In addition to Lumberjack and Flying Canoes, Splash Island’s children’s pool in Splash Works will be expanded to double its size and will feature all-new interactive spray features. This morning at 7am, Canada’s Wonderland fans were thrilled to hear that the brand new attraction set to debut in 2014 is Wonder Mountain’s Guardian, an all new interactive 4D dark ride that will be built inside Wonder Mountain!
Ever since Cedar Fair purchased the park, they have spared no expense plussing every inch of the park. From their initial coaster Behemoth to Leviathan just last year, Canada’s Wonderland fans have come to expect big things from the park.
For more than 30 years, a familiar darkness has surrounded Wonder Mountain at Canada’s Wonderland. Guests and employees alike have suspected a dark mythical presence hidden within this iconic landmark. Zumba Flume was a classic log flume ride that was located in the Grande World Exposition of 1890. It was removed to make way for Flight Deck (Top Gun).
The ride was one of the original attractions in the Park when it opened in 1981, and entertained over 14 million riders in its 15 years of operation. Zumba Flume was removed to make room for Top Gun (now Flight Deck), which opened in 1995.
I remember riding this on my very first trip to Canada’s Wonderland in the early 90’s. We got to skip school, and it was wicked awesome! As we were waiting to unload on the turntable, a kid got his leg stuck between the platform and the log. They had to call the Paramedics to pry his leg out and unfortunately it was broken. Maybe this happend a few too many times? Who knows! Either way, the ride was pretty awesome. Look for a shot of it in this classic Wonderland ad:

Canada’s Wonderland has announced its entertainment lineup for the 2013 season, with two brand new shows: British Invasion and Charlie Brown’s Jungle Journey. Returning favourites include an upgraded Starlight Spectacular, along with Crique Ambiente and the famous Victoria Falls Divers. Canada’s Wonderland opens to the public on May 5th for it’s 2013 season, but Season Passholders can attend Season Passholder Preview Night on Friday, May 3 from 6pm-10pm. Continue reading →
Canada’s Wonderland has finally unleashed their revamped website and details for Halloween Haunt 2012. This years event brings us four new attractions: Two new haunts called Streets of the Undead and Iron Empire, and two new shows called The Underworld and Blood Drums. Favourite haunts such as Club Blood, Blood on the Bayou, Corn Stalkers and more return to give you even more nightmares. We came across the new website for Halloween Haunt 2012, with this years event dates being October 5 – October 28. It’s still under construction, but you can clearly see zombies in the background, meaning you can expect to see a zombie themed maze, and maybe even a scare zone. As we mentioned on our last trip report, we were told about a brand new haunt and scare zone for 2012. We hear the whole event is being revamped, which is truly exciting. Let’s hope we get a few awesome shows in addition to the haunts and scare zones. We’re eagerly awaiting details of the event and will update our readers the moment we find out more.
