Two New Rides, Expanded Splash Area Coming to Canada’s Wonderland for 2018!

Canada’s Wonderland will be adding two new rides, Lumberjack and Flying Canoes, along with an expanded play and splash area for children in 2018! From new thrills, to family fun, to splash zones, the upcoming season will provide new experiences and memories for the whole family.

Lumberjack will take guests for a thrilling ride on two swinging axe pendulums, propelling them into the sky with their feet dangling through 360 degree loops. With inversions reaching up to 75 feet (22m) high, Lumberjack will give riders the sensation of an inverted coaster loop!

Flying Canoes is an interactive family ride that will allow riders to control their journey of flight in two-person canoes.
Plus! In addition to Lumberjack and Flying Canoes, Splash Island’s children’s pool in Splash Works will be expanded to double its size and will feature all-new interactive spray features.

This morning at 7am, Canada’s Wonderland fans were thrilled to hear that the brand new attraction set to debut in 2014 is Wonder Mountain’s Guardian, an all new interactive 4D dark ride that will be built inside Wonder Mountain!

Ever since Cedar Fair purchased the park, they have spared no expense plussing every inch of the park. From their initial coaster Behemoth to Leviathan just last year, Canada’s Wonderland fans have come to expect big things from the park.Guardian Logo

For more than 30 years, a familiar darkness has surrounded Wonder Mountain at Canada’s Wonderland. Guests and employees alike have suspected a dark mythical presence hidden within this iconic landmark. In May 2014 the park will throw speculation about these myths aside and blast into Wonder Mountain to unveil a thrilling new interactive 4-D dark ride, Wonder Mountain’s Guardian. Continue reading

Canada's Wonderland 2013 Entertainment Lineup

Canada’s Wonderland has announced its entertainment lineup for the 2013 season, with two brand new shows: British Invasion and Charlie Brown’s Jungle Journey. Returning favourites include an upgraded Starlight Spectacular, along with Crique Ambiente and the famous Victoria Falls Divers. Canada’s Wonderland opens to the public on May 5th for it’s 2013 season, but Season Passholders can attend Season Passholder Preview Night on Friday, May 3 from 6pm-10pm. Continue reading

Cedar Point 2013 Gatekeeper construction

On our weekend trip to HalloWeekends, we took a few photos of the construction site for Gatekeeper, the 2013 B&M Winged coaster Cedar Point is adding to its awesome collection of coasters. The previous occupants of the site, Disaster Transport and Space Spiral, are completely gone. You can see footers are being poured and vertical construction will probably begin in a few weeks. Cedar Point HalloWeekends 2012 Trip Report

Over the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend, we packed up our car and headed to Cedar Point to take in their fantastic HalloWeekends for the first time ever! It’s been on our list for a long time, so it was nice to finally have time to visit.

If you’ve never heard of the event, it’s similar to Halloween Haunt at Canada’s Wonderland, with the exception that it’s included with park admission.

Our first night was Friday and the weather flopped back and forth from being a tolerable chilly to pouring rain. It did put a damper on the evening, but we had the chance to walk the park and take in all the fantastic Halloween themeing and decor. We must say it was very impressive! Continue reading

Halloween Haunt 2012

Canada’s Wonderland has finally unleashed their revamped website and details for Halloween Haunt 2012. This years event brings us four new attractions: Two new haunts called Streets of the Undead and Iron Empire, and two new shows called The Underworld and Blood Drums. Favourite haunts such as Club Blood, Blood on the Bayou, Corn Stalkers and more return to give you even more nightmares. New wood coaster for California’s Great America in 2013

California’s Great America will open the tallest and fastest wooden roller coaster in Northern California in the spring of 2013.


High-speed twists, turns, drops, a station fly-by and the Old West are the top features of Gold Striker, currently under construction. The ride will stand 108 feet at its highest point with a first drop of 103 feet at a 50-degree angle. Riders will careen along 3,197 feet of track at speeds up to 54 miles per hour. The ride experience on Gold Striker will last more than two minutes. Continue reading
