I must admit that I couldn’t care less about the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. I don’t know why, but the Olympics seem so overrated and unexciting to me at this stage in my life. I should care, as this is the stage for Canadian advertisers and brands to make an impact on the world. It’s taking place down the road from my birthplace, in my favorite city in Canada. And yet, I have no Olympic Spirit. I do not Believe, such as CTV is promoting me to do. The only impact it’s had on me is that I purchased an Olympic Glass at Petro-Canada. Mainly because I like branded glassware, and it looks like it will hold at least a beer and a half nicely. Anyways, the hoopla is lost on me. Maybe as we get closer I will care more, but it seems unlikely. I must admit, I really like the mascots. They just look so cute, and I’m sure they will sell millions of the Sasquatch toys. Such a big, lovable guy!
